Terms of Service
Effective date: May 18, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Townlings, a mobile application (the “Service”) operated by Townlings (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Townlings lets you assemble a personal “town” of AI agents. Each agent runs on a schedule and performs a task on your behalf — for example, delivering a summary or notification, or (if you connect a third-party account such as a music, email, or calendar service) reading from or writing to that account within the scopes you grant. The catalog of available agents and supported integrations grows over time. Features, agents, and pricing may change, be added, or be removed.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- One account per person. You may not share access or operate accounts on behalf of others.
- Notify us at support@townlings.com promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service, except where this restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach security or authentication measures.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by attempting to bypass rate limits, sending automated requests outside the app, or overwhelming infrastructure.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service except through interfaces we explicitly provide for that purpose.
- Submit content (including in feedback) that is illegal, infringing, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
5. Third-party services
The Service can connect to third-party services (for example, music, email, calendar, or identity providers). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of third-party services, and your relationship with each third-party service is between you and that service.
You can disconnect a connected service at any time from Profile → Connections.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (for example, feedback messages and any data we read on your behalf from connected services). By submitting content to us — including feedback — you grant Townlings a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use that content for the purposes of operating, securing, and improving the Service.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit any content you submit.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its name, logos, designs, code, and other materials we provide, belongs to Townlings or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not use, copy, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your account data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION DELIVERED BY AN AGENT (NEWS SUMMARIES, MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGES, ETC.) IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. AGENT OUTPUT IS GENERATED IN PART BY AI MODELS AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS — DO NOT RELY ON IT FOR PROFESSIONAL, MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, OR LEGAL DECISIONS.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOWNLINGS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Townlings and its operators from any claim, demand, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Apple App Store terms
If you obtained the Townlings app from Apple's App Store, the following additional terms apply, and in the event of any conflict between this Section 13 and the rest of these Terms, this Section controls:
- These Terms are concluded between you and Townlings, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Townlings, not Apple, is responsible for any product warranties, claims of non-conformity, product liability claims, and intellectual-property infringement claims relating to the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If a provision of these Terms is missing for the App Store version, Apple's standard end-user license agreement applies as a default. See https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email and update the Effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement — these Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Townlings regarding the Service.
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment — you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale.
